Vung Tau is a city in southern Vietnam. Its population in 2005 was 240,000. The city area is 140 km² (54 square miles) including 13 urban wards and one village. It is the capital of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, and is the petroleum center in Vietnam. The city is located in the south of Vietnam, and is situated at the tip of a small peninsula. It is currently the nearest sea side resort for the city dewellers of Saigon to head off to relax in the weekend.
Program Schedule
Day 1 ARRIVAL HCM CITY
Arr. Ho Chi Minh City . Check in hotel. Evening free for your own. Overnight in HCM City.
Day 2 HCM -CUCHI - VUNG TAU (B, L, D)

ABF in hotel, visit the War Museum - historic pictures and warfare machines are displayed in this museum as well as pictures of individuals accounting their stories during the duration of war. Interestingly, the museum also displays chemical warfares that were used against the Liberation Army during the war as well as victims of torture, torture chambers and chemical victims. There are also numerous snapshots by the American War reporters during the whole outcome of war and their opinions and articles as well. Proceed to Cu Chi village - Cuchi tunnel, The tunnels are also approxmately 3-4metres deep and are able to sustain the weight of a 50ton tanks, heavy artillery and bombardment. There is also a live firing range where toursits are able to buy live bullets (own expense) for various types of guns, handguns, machine guns and rifles used during the days of war. Back to HCM City for lunch , then transfer to Vung Tau Beach resort. Overnight in Vung Tau.

Day 3 VUNG TAU - HCM (B, L, D)

Abf in hotel, Vung tau City tour including: visit the Quan The Am Bo Pagoda - built in 1976, near Large Mountain, 500m from the Mulberry Beach, in the middle of this pagoda is a white statue of Goddess of Mercy, looking towards thesea and holding a holy water urn in her hands. Giant Jesus, Whale Temple - A legend has it that a fisherman was saved by a whale when his fishing boat was capsized during a storm, the villagers in turn constructed the temple to show their gratitude. Return to hotel for shower & check out. Lunch at local restaurant. Back to Ho chi minh. city. continue city tour and shopping, dinner onboard Cruise along Saigon River with Live Band Show, check in hotel . Free for the rest of the night for own leisure. Overnight in HCM city.
Giant Jesus - built in 1971, this enourmous 28 metre figure of Jesus gazing across the East Sea with outstretched arms is located at the southern end of the Nho Mountain, tourists can climb up 129 steps of its hollow interior to reach its arms which are balconies and offer a splendid view of the surrounding landscape |
Day 4 HCM - MYTHO - HCM (B,L,D)

ABF in hotel. Depart for Mytho - Upon arrival in Mytho, transfer to a ferry and take a 45minute ride on the Mekong River and discover the many stories behind the scattered islands found along the Mekong River. Then tranfer to the Thai Son island where you will view local coconut candy production, bee farms and treat yourself to some of the local fruits (seasonal fruits). Here on the island you can also view the Mekong Delta Communities way of life. Drink refreshing honey tea while being entertained by a local folksong performance by the inhabits of the island. Finally take a 10 minute boat ride along the swampy rivers within the island where you will be transfered to the main ferry for the journey back to the mainland. Transfer to HCM City, visit Ben Thanh Market if time allows, dinner. After dinner proceed to evening theater to watch the water puppet show. The rest of evening is free for your own lesiure
Day 5 Departure (B)
Abf in hotel, free till time for transfer to airport for flight back to your country.
