Despite its quite recent past, Cuchi Tunnel has being one of the most popular destination for tourists of both Local & International. Depart from your hotel for Cu Chi tunnels. Another name of Cu Chi Tunnels is ' Steel land' . It was where the Northern Army troops concealed themselves during the Vietnam war. The Complex Underground tunnel systems were created by locals over a period of 20 years and houses hospital, sleeping quater, planning rooms, store rooms, eating quater just to name a few. This huge construction was a habitation for village people wartime when the American war planes bombarded the area. With 3 storeys of depth, it was never searched throughly by the US Army and its allies during the war despite its proximity to Saigon.
