ITINERARY

9:00AM-11:10AM Cast off into world famous Ha Long Bay - to begin your immersion day you will be transported by tender through this timeless landscape to Gia Luan on the northern tip of Cat Ba Island.

11.30 – 12.00PM: You will be taken for a ride down the spine of Cat Ba Island along what must count as one of the worlds most beautiful roads surrounded by limestone peaks. Soon you’ll find yourself in the remote and breath taking Butterfly Valley, Lien Minh with only twelve farming family inhabitants. Here you will meet your local trekking guide(s), who will take you for a walk into the jungle and mountains of this remote and untraveled section of the national park.

12:00PM-12:45PM: After your Nature Walk, you will return to a local bee farmer’s home to eat a delicious home-cooked Vietnamese meal (which you can help to organize and cook) made with some fresh locally grown produce. Under a hand-made bamboo enclosure enjoy a wide spread of foods and feel free to interact with the genuinely friendly and kind indigenous peoples of Lien Minh.

1:00PM-4:00PM: Re-energized with a full stomach, take a short walk through the farmlands of Butterfly Valley passing friendly water buffalo and cattle as you wonder amount the Valley’s rich flora and fauna. There are more than 600 different kinds of plants on Cat Ba Island and Butterfly Valley is a pristine area to explore a number of these species. The wide variety of trees and vegetation includes Bang, Goi Nep, Sang Le and Kim Giao.

In addition, Cat Ba is filled with animals of such rare species like the white headed languor, along with deer and macaques. It is also home to sea turtles, lobsters, coral, and a verity oysters. All these sights make Cat Ba Island an absolutely stunning international travel destination.

4:30PM-6:30PM: Cruise through Lan Ha Bay returning to Ha Long Bay or to Cat Ba Island.

Primary Activities: Scenic Coastline Ride, Nature Walk, Cooking Class, Local Farming Village Experience with Lunch on a Small Farm.

Other Activities: Petting Water Buffalo, Hammocks, Drinking Locally Made Honey Rice Wine! Designed For: Anyone (Ages: 6-150+); no athletic ability necessary; everyone can walk!!
